(Ghasem:) Transporting yourself places And you, if its a big place you have to go A long.. that's what I like about Amsterdam You walk five minutes You wait less than ten minutes for a tram Then you're where you need to be In ten or fifteen minutes And it makes it so It's much more relaxing You need to try it That was on of the first things I noticed here The amount of time and space in traffic With a conception of a space (Rob:) Where're you going m'am Where're you going Where're you going m'am (Ghasem:) Space, openly and distance And places consuming more time You will have to notice There are maybe mountains Relaxing must it be Very open space mountains With a concept of space Openly and distant And moving through that space Consuming more time So I grew up in very open spaces, mountains And then one day I thought again I really thought about it and saw what this is And how I where I grew up was that You grew up and then all that time And I then saw that contrast It's so much That's what I like about Amsterdam Plus you when you look And that might be for seven miles Instead of fifty or hundred meters Across the canal or I might look Down the canals, That might be my greatest Concept of distance Is looking down the canals

about

The debut album from Dutch female trumpet master where she combines the hippest elements of jazz & acid jazz with beefy, bottom heavy hip hop breakbeats, trancy house grooves, latin flavors, R&B & the rapping talents of Poetic Voice, Mac Maestro & QF Da Funkee P - flute, sax, keys & vocals round out the mix. Saskia also plays acoustic bass and alto sax. She co-composed and produced the album together with keyboardist Rob Gaasterland in 'Studio de Boot', floating somewhere in Amsterdam.
